Be Our Hero

Interested in Volunteering or participating in our Internship Program? The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking motivated individuals with an interest in criminal justice to participate in the Sheriff’s Office internship and citizen volunteer program. Besides gaining knowledgeable experience, the student will pave the way for possible job opportunities.

Our internship program provides the criminal justice and or social work student with a hands-on introduction to the diverse and fascinating aspects of a local law enforcement agency that serves the state capital and more than 250,000 citizens. The student works closely with sworn deputies and detectives in every department within the operations bureau of the Sheriff’s Office. He/She will be afforded valuable experience and insight into every step of a criminal investigation. The Sheriff’s Office internship program allows the criminal justice and or social work student to earn college credit while gaining valuable experience in the law enforcement field.

The LCSO Citizen’s Volunteer program allows citizens the opportunity to participate in the day to day operations of the Sheriff’s Office. Volunteers are assigned to the various departments and divisions within the office where they work side by side with Sheriff’s Office employees. Volunteers are exposed to the behind the scenes workings of the Sheriff Office and assist employees in every aspect of LCSO operations. Volunteering is the best way to get experience and help out your community, so join our team today!

To volunteer please ask for the LCSO Volunteer Coordinator at (850) 606-3361.
