The Leon County Sheriff's Office is requesting assistance in locating John Wesley Davis. Davis disappeared from the Tallahassee area on or about 05 February 1981. Davis' truck was located at the Tallahassee Regional Airport. A parking stub was located in the vehicle that indicated that it was parked there at approximately 1:18 PM on that date. There is no indication of foul play.

Davis was married and ran a successful contracting business in Tallahassee. He is a graduate of Florida State University and he enjoys writing. According to family members, Davis spent a great deal of time in Montana and Idaho as a young man. He enjoys fishing and hunting in those areas. Davis' family also owned property in Maine at one point in time.

Davis has no prior military service and no criminal history. No fingerprint information has been located for him. Additionally, Davis has no history of mental health problems nor were there any diagnosed medical problems. There is no specific indication that Davis' disappearance involves foul play.
