There are many volunteer opportunities available at the Sheriff's Office which are in-house, no risk ways to help. Paperwork is a big part of any office and the Sheriffs Office is no exception.

Working at the reception desk, duties would include answering phones, taking messages, greeting people and directing people within the building. We would also like to find volunteers who could serve as a fill-in at the reception desk when one of the others are ill or on leave.

The traffic unit needs computer input people to enter details on traffic stops which are made.

Data entry on the computer is needed in the warrants section, at the jail in a medical setting and in various other offices. We also need volunteers to help at the jail lobby.

There are other opportunities, such as pulling files, filing, alphabetizing and working in the property unit.

A hero comes in many sizes and shapes, but all of them have one thing in common--they want to help. You are needed.

Call the Volunteer Coordinator at 922-3507. Make an appointment to come to talk to us. All volunteers must pass a background check. Our volunteers must be eighteen years of age or older. Be our hero.
