A primary mission of the Leon County Sheriff’s is to prevent, prepare, protect, defend and recover from both man-made and natural events. The LCSO attempts to accomplish this mission through a multi-pronged approach involving agency strategies and collaborative partnerships with other state, local, and federal partners.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office’s remains actively engaged with the State of Florida Domestic Security Strategy on the state level. In addition to policy making on the state level, the LCSO works with its law enforcement partners investigating all incidents related to domestic security that occur in the region.
The LCSO serves as the coordinating agency for the State Homeland Security Grant Program within this region of the state. This program has assisted the entire region in numerous disciplines including; law enforcement, fire, health, emergency management, emergency medical services, agriculture, critical infrastructure and campus security.
