Civil Process Unit

The civil process unit handles the service of various legal non-enforceable documents including:

  • Civil summons
  • Subpoenas
  • Garnishments
  • Tax deeds.
  • Divorce Papers
  • Child Support

The civil unit averages:

  • 2300 papers received per month
  • 2000 papers served per month

The Civil Unit serves all of Leon County including a number of state and governmental agencies, private attorneys as well as the general public. Documents must be served in a timely manner and in many cases require a response from the defendant back to the court within a limited amount of time.
